Nice quaint neighborhood restaurant frequented by locals! Fish & Chips and sandwiches were delicious! Excellent service !
We were visiting from NYC for the weekend. A friend from Toronto brought us here for brunch before a tour of Yorkville. Our waitress was friendly + helpful. All the food was excellent: a smoked salmon benedict, a special omelette and a Canadian breakfast. Topped off with a half-carafe of rose' from Ontario, it was a terrific meal. Prices are... More
We decided to stop here mainly because it is a 'bookcrossing zone' where you can drop off books and take books for free. We planned on only having a pint and continuing on our way but decided to have something to eat. We had crab cakes to start ($9 for two) which were delicious! I had a Cobb salad-huge and... More
This is not your typical pub or pub fare. Harbord House is a gem; one of those great neighborhood places that has a wonderfully comforting relaxed atmosphere, excellent tasty fast fresh food, great prices, and personal friendly yet professional service. It's the kind of place where you could walk in the first time, hear the theme some from the old... More
This is one of the best pub-style restaurants in Toronto, with generous helpings of creatively prepared food -- it is pub food aiming at a much higher level in ingredients and creativity than pubs usually aspire to. And since it is not part of a chain, it doesn't have that feel of institutional predictability that so many chain-pubs have. You... More
Harbord House is a terrific gastro-pub just west of the U of T campus on Harbord Street. It's a great place to meet friends and enjoy lunch or dinner. The food is very good, the atmosphere is neighbourhood-friendly, the portions are generous, and the service is great. I always choose the fish and chips. My wife enjoys the crab cakes.... More
I was drenched through and through due to a sudden umbrella failure timed exactly to a downpour. I was rushing along looking for anyplace I could grab a meal and a dry seat and found a cozy looking place Harbord House. I entered very drenched and dripping. The hostess was cheery and offered me a nearby seating in a nook... More
This place is laid back, charming and has good gastropub fare. It's tasty and generous portions. The Lamb and Rosemary sausages with mash and gravy was delicious and filling. Also they do the best sticky toffee pudding in the world. Excellent range of real ales too. Very good value for money.
This restaurant has a great relaxed atmosphere. The food is sort of 'gastropub' - nothing too fancy, but just really good and hearty portions. I had some delicious pickerel, though the rosti it came with was a bit too 'roasted'. The range of beers is excellent and if you aren't familiar with Canadian real ales, the waiters are knowledgable and... More
We visited on a nice warm day, and were lucky to be able to get a table on the upstairs terrace. The food (Omelette and the Hoser Burger) was excellent, and so was the draft Horseshoe beer. The service was great, especially considering we were in a hurry.
