Loud, funny and a little crazy. Sapporo, salt, deep fried and tasty morsels of Japanese pub style eating. Really good.

The most lively and contagiously positive restaurant staff I've ever come across. There is usually a wait, but not a long one. Usually 10 minutes. Every time someone enters the restaurant, you are welcomed with a huge roar of the entire staff saying hello in Japanese. And every time someone leaves, the same thing happens, only this time they're saying... More

Fun place, great energy, good food!! The only draw back besides the constant line up is the 2 hour seating limit, so eat and drink quickly, cause you gotta guuu!!

Adhering to latest dining trends among the young, Guu is a busy, bustling Japanese eatry pumping loud dance music and tasty tapas. Don't expect any sushi or maki, this restaurant is more about the fish and a handful of dishes. Saporo beer flows and Japanese vodka is a beverage mainstay. A fu environment for a one off, but to revisit... More

When you walk in for the very first time you'll wonder what all the shouting is all about - it's the staff giving one of their guteral greetings. When they do it again as you leave you'll understand. Tables are on top of each other. Everyone is shouting to be heard over the noise. But the food is really good... More

I love Guu. The best "fun" seafood experience in Toronto I have had. The atmosphere here is great and the food even better.

We ate here last night and enjoyed all of the dishes, the crazy shouting of the staff and the ambiance. We had made a booking and in spite of this and the fact that it was a Tuesday night, still had to wait 10 minutes for a place at the bar. The place was packed. The food was well prepared... More

Atmosphere is everything and this place has it in abundance. You can wait a while if you don't time this correctly, but once inside you won't be disappointed. A loud greeting, just as loud goodbyes and waiters charging around delivering well executed dishes. Good tasting no nesense food. Sashimi were fresh, fried and grilled food tasted great; it was all... More

If you go off hours like we did, you may only wait 1/2 hours. Otherwise, the wait is absolutely crazy. However, we arrived at 10 p.m. and go in by 10:30 p.m. However, once inside the food is amazing for the price you pay. It's absolutely delicious. I especially loved the BBQ calamari. The place is absolute mayham, with greetings... More

My friend and I tried this place for the first time and we did not know that it is such a fun place. We really enjoy the combination of Japanese and Korean dishes. The prices are very reasonable for a downtown location. The birthday cheers by the staff is super crazy. The sashimi is fresh and so delicious. I highly... More
