Finally a place in windsor to enjoy a good coney dog and chilli cheese fries. Atmosphere was great and an awesome place to kill time if you re waiting at the airport (:
Went here with my parents and they loved the 50's feel, music and menu. Service is quick, great food and value for your money. We went for breakfast and left full!! Not greasy like some other breakfast places. Worth every penny! I've also been for milkshakes and they are amazing!!! Will definitely go again and again.
Bad hotel but very nice time at this nice joint. Service was outstanding. I can't eat garlic and they cooked the whole meal without. 2 Thumbs up
The 50's style atmosphere is really neat and takes you back. We had the burger topped with saucy chicken special and the hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with crushed potato chips - how fun. The portions were large and we really could have "shared". The price was very reasonable and food delicious - couldn't stop eating. The service... More
Had to drive over 30 miles to take in the Route 42 Diner & Dairy Bar (which is the actual full name) for breakfast. The inside is filled with posters and signs relating to the 50's and 60's with Elvis dominating the theme. Love to come to these type of places with the juke box music, red and while leather... More
Went to the Diner for the first time Friday night. I am giving high marks for the ambience and the fun atmosphere of the diner. The 60's music brought us back to our youth! I ordered the half rack of ribs, big mistake. The ribs were gristly and not falling off the bone, with the sauce just dumped on top... More
Went to Route 42 with a group of 50 seniors for breakfast. Can you imagine serving 50 people all at once? Naturally it's impossible, but they did a fabulous job. Our breakfast was hot and tastey, coffee was replenished often, and the atmosphere was really neat. Love the 50's theme! We'll definetly go back.
My husband and I decided to try this place for dinner tonight after seeing an ad in the Windsor Star online, and we weren't disappointed! From the moment we were seated, to the moment we left, our server was very attentive and friendly, and the food was DELICIOUS! We both ordered the seafood special (fish and shrimp with onion rings... went there to find out exactly what a diner's decor of the 1950's offered. Food was superb, huge portions and very appealing, to say the least. Service was friendly and helpful. Very clean and the decor was most interesting and entertaining.
Clean and comfortable. My mom ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was a beautiful thing. Tastey too. Don't bother going if your on diet they do comfort food too well. I always order breakfast and the diner does it all day. My over easy eggs were a little over done, but the sausage was good. A bit pricey but everything... More
