The service was okay, the food was okay. Underwhelming beer menu, except for the seasonal selections. An overall average restaurant experience.

Just came back from a week-long visit to Canmore, Alberta.
This is beautiful country and deserves better than what we received at "The Wood".
We were visiting my son's family who live there and told them we would take them out to dinner and they opted for "The Wood".
It was a Sunday evening around 6:00 p.m. and the restaurant...

I felt I had to write a review especially after seeing there were so many terrible ratings of this not terrible restaurant. My mom who was visiting from out of town and I stopped at the wood for supper and had a great experience. The service was quick and attentive and our meal was excellent. The only thing stopping me...

excellent steaks, a little pricey, many choices, quiet atmosphere, service was excellent, friendly staff,
I had probably the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant here. The service is deplorable. We waited to be seated while staff member after staff member looked at us and then walked away. When we finally were seated and ordered, we waited over an hour without getting our food. People that came in after us were eating,...

My wife and I found ourselves in Canmore on a beautiful day and wanted to do lunch outside. We decided on The Wood and were very pleased. The patio has amazing sight lines and we found ourselves staring at all the mountains peak. Our server was great and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
Stopped with a co-worker on a Tuesday which happens to be steak night. $10 for a pretty good 6 oz steak w/ salad & fries; $2 more for yam fries. Add a cold beer & the entire meal with tip & tax was around $21. Reviews on this restaurant seem to be hit or miss and I can see why....

This is a great spot to stop in for a quick beer on the patio if the weather is right: great location on Main Street and mountain views, with a decent selection on tap. They also serve decent traditional breakfasts (eggs, hashbrowns, toast, waffles, pancakes, etc) at a decent price, but nothing really outstanding. I would come back if I...

The Wood seems to be an old Canmore standby. Its seen a bit of hard use. Its called a restaurant and lounge, but its really a bar with some not very good food afterthoughts. Dark and sort of dingy surroundings with greasy pretty tasteless food was not a good combination. If you're looking for beer followup food, this is the...
