This is a lovely old hotel with a nice restaurant and lounge. You can eat in the lounge. It's a large menu, and the servers have been there for a long time.

We have been patrons of the Hume for many years and are seldom disappointed. The food is consistently good, the atmosphere is homey, and the staff are friendly and efficient. We are often there for lunch and really appreciate Allison who is always smiling and willing to accommodate special requests. A great place for Nelsonites and visitors alike.

I recently ate at the General Store with my grandchildren. The food was excellent and the service fantastic. The staff is friendly and very efficient. Our server's name was Will and he really went out of his way to accommodate the children. I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling with children.

Mike's Place Pub is one of those places you instantly feel at home in. Cozy & comfortable, amazing local beer on tap, good food & excellent service!! The Hume is a truly Nelson experience. Situated in a Heritage Hotel, it offers a great atmosphere coupled with a great affordable menu. They make the best pizza in town and Richard, our server who has been there forever is always attentive, pleasant and efficient.
