Converted warehouse I think. Very busy on the nights we went there. Great range of real ales. Didn't eat but the menu looked OK.
Called in for a meal on a Monday evening. Quite busy, nowhere to sit, so booked a table for two for the Tuesday, and were told we would be eat in the quiet area at the back of the pub. On arrival on Tuesday, were shown to a table in the bar area which was near the door and the... More
This was the fifth time I’ve been here and the beers are still brilliant. Had lunch three times and have yet to be disappointed, a good lunch, consistent sandwiches that are well filled with bread that is very obviously hand sliced (a plus not a minus). Side orders of chips are first class, crunchy followed by soft, would recommend. But... More
Myself and my partner went here for a few drinks on a busy Friday night after finding it in the CAMRA guide. There was a great selection of ales and cask ciders to choose from. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but the chips did look frozen rather than hand cut. Nice place with efficient bar... More
We visited here on Wednesday evening, and paid to be insulted by the manager! If you enjoy this type of treatment go and visit, if you don't avoid it like the plague....... Enough said, we won't visit any of these organisations again, this is just one of a chain, with arrogant, ignorant staff and management. Poor, slow, inefficient customer service, over priced... More
Terrific food with a hugely varied menu, combining some traditional pub favourites with dishes more ambitious but all prepared to the very highest quality and freshness. I dined with two (well, one sort-of) vegetarians and the choice for them was also very good. Well-spiced starters and a truly excellent sausages and mash (colcannon/champ) for my main course with authentically flavoured... More
Avoid this one! I am not wasting words or improving their business, & so succinctly; Service - nil points Attitude - minus on the scale Approach -requires improvement off the scale Feedback to the management here, who are unreceptive,& are too busy fussing over their hound & gossiping with bar staff and locals - at the inconvenience of the customer, and adding... I Googled this pub before setting out on my journey to Chester with my well behaved dog! It overlooked the canal and had a lovely Sunday afternoon feel. The food (Sunday roast), was excellent and my dog had his own bowl of water. I will be going there again next time I'm in the area!
Dont be fooled by the lowish overall score. Most of the low scorers are parents. If you fancy a child-free environment the food here is lovely and the staff very service focussed.
We met our son here for lunch yesterday, sat at a table with the menus. Waitress asked if we wanted to order but we told her we were waiting for a third person. When he arrived she rushed over to see what he wanted to drink and when she came back she took our order. My husband and I had... More
