We've been here two years running and both times found the service exceptionally good and the food excellent, just one little niggle I wish there was an alternative bread I just don't like lavender bread but that's just me, apart from that really enjoyable and we will be back again next year.

Friendly helpful staff but food fairly nondescript and limited wine choice. Definitely not worth a second visit here. The restaurant is small so booking is recommended. The quality of the food was reasonable....the presentation was quite dated!

Visited July 2012,for an anniversary dinner, after reading some good reviews, wasn't asked if we wanted any drinks while ordering meals.lavender bread came with both my starter and main which was too over powering.at fifty pound for two was overpriced and over rated, waiter spent more time talking to a German couple than anything else, will not be going back, the only plus I... Arrived to find fresh Turbot on the menu 'off the boat in the harbour this afternoon'. What a piece of fish it was too! Succulent and served with a crayfish salad and rosemary new potatoes! Wow! This was pone of the nicest fish dishes I have ever had. Service with a smile; nice bottle of house white and that main... More

Whilst staying in Newquay our Hotel recommended the Butchers Bistro. Although its a bit pricey it was worth every penny ! We booked a table and upon arrival was greeted by Diego, our waiter. The menu is a mixture of grill and fish dishes. I opted for the surf and turf which was one of the best ive tasted ! They... More

Wow! What a place I stumbled on. I was in Newquay on business and staying in the Travelodge up the road from here. I was initially looking for easy food with the only visible eateries being burger king opposite, or dominoes and pizza express further up the road, along with an Indian, Mexican and a pub/hotel which served food. As... More

The lady staff was rude with careless attitude during our whole meal. To be honest, the waiter was more friendly. The lamb shank was over cooked, tasteless and chewy. When we asked for our bill we notised they tried to over charge for our drinks. After we pointed them out, they redrew these from the bill.

I read all the reviews and thought they can't be that bad. We went on a saturday night both ordered the fillet steak. My didn't even look like a fillet. Tasted chewy so I sent it back. Staff and service were friendly and good. The replacement was ok and at least the chef did come out to our table and... More
