Good food, although everyone seemed to be dressed very smart for a cafe. Hard to get a table so i strongly advise booking a few days beforehand

I have visited the Lakeside Cafe in Newquay many times over the years. When it was the local meeting place for mums to grab a cup of coffee and a chat. Since the present owners took over who are a husband and wife team, they have done an amazing job up grading it and opening in the evenings too, well...

Menu variety is a little on the sparse side however, this is augmented by the specials board. All food is very tasty and fresh from sardines through to the steak. Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. There was no feeling of being rushed and the atmosphere was really buzzing, with all tables joining in to wish someone...

Just returned from the Lakeside in Newquay. Food was delicious with generous portions. I had the green Thai salmon and prawn curry with sticky toffee pudding for desert. The cafe over looks the boating lake and its large glass windows provide an excellent view. Staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee is good too!
Having heard how great this cafe was, I took my brother and sister-in-law there for coffee. The staff were not very friendly or welcoming. The coffee was very good and would have returned for a meal later but were put off by the cold atmosphere, constant crashing of crockery and scraping of chairs & tables on the floor making it...

Having read the reviews telling me how wonderful the reborn lakeside café was, I suggested it as a Sunday trip out for a little late lunch. On arrival it was very crowded and noisy but we managed to find a table and hoped it would be worth it. Unfortunately it has taken the route of giving fairly uninspiring food a...

I've had some great dinners at Lakeside. Pan fried ling with lobster sauce... hake with a saffron and mussel broth... pheasant salad with a fried duck egg... delicious! Owner is efficient and friendly. Excellent value.
A short break in Newquay with Lunch on the Monday followed by Evening Dinner on the Wednesday and then also Thursday Evening. Excellent service whilst being relaxed but simply surpassed by the quality of the food, oustanding standard and value.
Great service unrushed , food as good as you can get will certainly be back very soon to try the evening menu Thanks
