We stayed in Porth over the bank holiday weekend and had thought we might eat at the Mermaid as it was really close to our accommodation. Unfortunately, the appearance of the place put us off. This is a nice little pub on the beach. I ordered the Cod and Chips and was very happy with the quality of food served. Home made chips and freshly battered fish. None of that terrible frozen stuff.

The Mermaid Inn at Porth near Newquay is in a superb location sitting on the corner of Porth beach. It looks out across Newquay bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
The interior of the Mermaid is looking a bit tired but has an outside patio area next to Porth beach, which is a nice place to sit and watch the sun...
