For us, this is the top coffee spot in the south! I hope that it continues to offer genuine warm and friendly service to all comers for a long time!
An object lesson in customer service.Food excellent, service spot on and atmosphere welcoming.Try it,you won't be disappointed.
9 of us ate here last weekend. We were lucky as we hadn't booked and just called in on the off chance, the cafe was very busy almost as soon as we sat down. The food was lovely and we were particularly surprised by the size of the portions (baguettes with chips and salad could keep you going all day!)... More
We planned to eat here today after a wander about the town as it is in a beautiful location. I popped in first to get some change for the car park and was promptly refused even though the lady was by the till which was already open and there was pile of change on the bar next to her. I... More
The view at the Porthgwidden takes some beating, particularly if you are lucky enough to get a window seat inside, or at the front of the outside balcony. We have eaten there many times and thrice during our current holiday. The staff are always friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. The crispy squid is the best we've eaten,... More
We visited Porthwigden Beach Cafe on the first Monday of the tourist low season - the cafe was open on a trial basis to judge demand. We had a sausage & bacon and a sausage & egg bap. The bread rolls were excellent. Service perfect. We returned for a drink in the afternoon.
Contrary to previous reviews I read on here we'd booked a birthday party for 6 adults and 6 kids. I must say above all the two girls that worked the night were extremely attentive and looked after the kids so well. They seem to have a great working relationship and we're very professional throughout. We pretty much had one of... More
Love this place. Beautiful setting on the beach, incredible food etc. Although we all agreed that the waiter who served us really made the restaurant. He was fantastic. Full of energy and managed to keep up with us all! He was also very patient as we were a big group of people. Food-wise the portions are generous and the combinations... More
We booked for a Sunday evening for three in October Started fine but then we waited nearly 40 minutes(!) for two portions of fish and chips and a mushroomy main course. Feeble and left me in a cross mood. General set-up nice and airy. Must be good on a nice day. If they serve you.
Really enjoyed a lunchtime meal with fantastic views across the beach to the sea...what a lovely spot to eat and relax. Lovely seafood, well cooked and presented, polite service and good value for money. A little gem! Recommend the mackerel!
