Stepping inside you could be in the Far East. This cafe resembles the cheap city eating establishments of the orient. The two oriental women are hard working and polite and the food is simple and tasty. This cafe is full of (oriental) character and about as far removed from the sterile fast food establishments that Brighton is full of.

We go to Pompoko all the time. It's always full of young Japanese people, the food is always hot, fresh and very very tasty. And yes, it's also really really cheap! Don't foget to order the dumplings and wonderful miso soup to go along with your main course!

Enjoyed the first couple of visits due to it being cheap and cheerful but had a bad experience where both me and my partner were ill after both having a chicken dish. This unfortunately has put us off going back!

Looks like a cafe from the outside, and you do feel like you are not in a restaurant but in someone s house but the food was amazing. With 2 children 4 and 6 with us as well, we were all happy. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is here. Seek it out! !

We eat here regularly and recently stopped back after a trip to Japan. The food is excellent, served quickly and is inexpensive. There is a wide range of things on the menu for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
