This used to be an old haunt we visited where the food was cheap but excellent and service abrupt and terrible and you were asked to leave when you finished as there were people queuing for seats. Our visit this time confirmed the service standards had been maintained. The food has gone down-hill badly. We ordered of particular mention is... More

Called in for a light snack lunch a few days ago. As always here the first thing that happens is you get sent upstairs! I ordered won ton noodle soup. She had crab and sweet corn soup which she said was very nice. Mine was good, but the main thing was it was vast. A light snack had turned into... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant in search of a quick and simple dinner, having had fond memories of having had a terrrific meal, accompanied by the legendary abuse doled out indiscriminately by the waiters. Well the latter has certainly not changed but the compensation of a good, cheap, feed is no longer the case. The roast pork we... More

It's fast Chinese food in a big restaurant with paper table clothes. I use it every time I go to London but I wouldn't bring my wife coz she'd turn her nose up at it. My 12 year son thinks it's incredible! So go figure!

Come here if you are hungry. Excellent, well priced, tasty Chinese food. Legendary rude waiters but now it is more of an act and they are much nicer (upstair, upstair). Stupendously efficient service, food arrives promptly and suddenly fills the table. (Although it is possible to order the occasional thing that takes longer to prepare so you have to wait... More

I have been visiting this Chinese for over thirty years and although they have had to keep up with the competition, gone a bit upmarket the food is wholesome and reasonably priced. Go with no expectations of the staff or customer service and then you won't be disappointed. But the food is outstanding and the opportunity to share a table... More

For a cheap, fast, westernised Chinese meal, this will be perfectly suitable. Some something interesting, cost effective, or more than "just sufficient", go elsewhere. The restaurant almost goes out of its way to look cheap and neglected (I never mention bathrooms in my reviews - I mention this one. It just about ferried my waste away from me. Just). The... More

I think this is the best place to eat in Chinatown, service as be a bit poor at time but it's totally worth it for a cheap eat in a good location!

We had been told the food was good, but the staff were less than pleasant. We had the game plan of having our order ready before we walked in by looking at the menu outside! We ordered the hot sour soup ( to die for), sweet sour pork hong kong style (yummy) and the duck with plum sauce no bone... More

I've just come back from a meal at Wong Kei's and was (aghast) alone and placed on the ground floor. The rather unwashed gentleman next to me didn't spoil my evening. I had a great serving of chilli squid and rice for a ridiculously cheap price of £6 and heaps of jasmine tea. I've been coming here for 20 years... More
