Lovely lovely place. Excellent food and great ambiance. Their ingredients are locally sourced, they have their own little herd of jersey cows in the moors from which they use their milk to make ice cream and clotted cream every morning! The food is great and really reasonably priced. Three of us spent £26 on three toasties/sandwich type meals, 3 drinks,... More

Diving into here on a wet and miserable day the staff were friendly and efficient and made us and our dog feel welcome. As a nice touch they even have towels to dry your dog down. The food and drinks were very nice and we enjoyed it so much we went back again.

visited Teare wood's with my parents and children over Easter. Whitby was freezing but it was sunny, we were at the seaside and my Dad loves his ice cream. This was the best, brilliant service and they even sorted out a gluten and lactose free sorbet banana split for my Mum who usually has to drink coffee and watch every... More

Having seen the review on Tripadvisor my wife and I sort out this place during our walk around Whitby. We were staying half board at a hotel so at lunchtime we weren't very hungry but the ice cream was just the thing. We tried the wild cherry and single scoop cones were £2 each. Whilst this is more expensive than... More

We have been going to Whitby for the past 3 years and never miss the chance to stop in to Teare Wood's. The first time we stopped in for a bite to eat we ordered a cheese and ham toastie. We expected the usual triangle with side salad so were delighted when it arrived as a rustic ciabatta with lean... More

This is the sort of place thas gives Britain its good name. It must be one of very few places that make their own ice cream from milk from their own farm and then produce milk shakes or ice cream floats flavoured by all the ice creams they sell.

Superb homemade ice cream, especially the Lavender, milkshakes straight from the heart, good ingredients, and happy quirky unique décor - somewhere that feels 1950s but with a modern twist. All cafes should have the great attitude and service friendly approach as these guys do. Needs to be promoted better and expanded around the country in my opinion!

Really friendly service in this small, but beautifully formed, ice cream parlour serving some really cracking flavours never tried before.

My daughter and I took our dog in here while visiting Whitby on a very cold day. The service was good, and dogs were very welcome, even a basket of dog-towels by the door!! Would definitely go back.
