We called in here (wife and baby), as we were walking around Whitby. The sign, starter and main £10 caught my eye so I thought we would investigate. I had the soup of the day and steak sandwich for main. All the food was of a very high standard and very well presented. The same can also be said about... More

My husband and I were late arrivals and ordered two fish pies. Although it was flavoursome, the majority of the dish was potato, not fish. Nice atmosphere.

We went out to Greens for Lunch, it is on a prime location. Food was good and arrived well on time. Seating average, ripped chairs etc. Average food cover can be expensive. There is a car park which is not too far from the restaurant which is very handy.

We ate in the Bistro on a quiet Sunday evening in June and had a pleasant but average supper. The menu at Greens offers something for everyone with a wide ranging menu (the cooking possibly suffers from having such a extensive offering). We decided that our chances of having a tasty supper would be increased by keeping it local so... More

I've only ever eaten here when they have a deal on, as the dishes on the regular menu I think are just too pricey, and judging by some negative reviews on here I am apprehensive about risking wasting my money. I've had the prawn cocktail and moules frites at lunchtime which were both very good, especially at £10 for 2... More

Absolutely fantastic meal on steak night. Booked a booth table in advance, recommended by our b & b ! Steaks were well cooked, chips amazing and a great salad, all washed down with a lovely bottle of wine, thoroughly enjoyed a great meal at an amazing price. Staff were lovely too. When back in Whitby, we will definitely visit again.

This is the second time that we have visited the resteraunt and although the food comes with a high price, it's well worth a trip!! Having decided to go for the starters we enjoyed scallops and tiger prawns, beautifully presented and very tasty. For the main courses we had greens fish pie which was beautiful, large chunks of fish and... More

On holiday in North Yorkshire Whitby seemed a place to visit. Big mistake - it was tacky and totally over-hyped for its maritime and literary connections. With every third retail establishment seemingly selling over-priced fish and chips the smell of degrading chip fat hung heavy in the air. If it had not been for finding the civilised ambience of Green's... More

Stayed in Whitby for 2 nights and the steak night was recommended to us by the owner of our hotel. It was £36 for 2 steaks, chips and a bottle of house wine. It was perfect, quality was amazing and service was so quick considering that the restaurant was full. The next night we returned for the fish special which... More
