Really lovely little restaurant with great food and friendly service. I've been here twice now, first time was a few years ago, and I've loved it both times.
A group of 6 of us went out for an evening meal at this restaurant. As with previous occasions when we have visited this place the food was outstanding, but the service, although extremely friendly, is a little slow. It took 20 mins to get the menus and the food takes a long time to be bought out – although...

Such a shame. This place is so cute and the food is delicious. Went there the first time and had to wait 1.5 hours for food to arrived, weren't offered any kind of mini snacks and an apology was only given after 1 hour! Eventually the food arrived which was great, top quality stuff. Decided to give it a second...

Great food here.. Having returned from Kyoto after a brief visit I was really reminded of proper Japanese food. Some very authentic dishes indeed great atmosphere as well. The staff were excellent very friendly but not overbearing at all.. You're probably looking at around £40.00 a head which is bearable considering the quality of the food.. Oishi..
Been going here for many years and visited Saturday night for my brothers birthday. Food was lovely, the starters are far better than the mains in our experience (my tip - order loads of these and less of the main course dishes). Also had sashmi and sushi platters for the table....the fish was really fresh - really good quality dishes....

I've have visited Higoi on many occasions now (about 8 or 9), and each time I am made to feel extremely welcome. The staff are very polite, in a truly authentic Japanese manner. Of the times I have visited, I have been in both small groups (2-4) and large groups (10-12). Each time the restaurant catered very well for the...

Came highly recommended by two friends who lived in Japan. Great food, great service. Whenever I pass near Nottingham I definitely drop in. The agadashi tofu and sashimi moriawase are to die for!
I've stolen TimS1706's punchline - but he's not wrong!
The restaurant is small and unassuming, set in the heart of the student district of Lenton. I'd disagree with reviewers who describe this as a rough part of town: there's no problem parking on street round here. The decor is simple and appropriate, with a homely feel.
The Keiseki style dinner...

A limited selection of japanese food but a reasonable selection of good sushi and sashimi. Fresh but noticing that the squids and the tuna is not at its peak on occassion. The soft shell crab maki is very good but is also variable depending o´n the freshness of the crab. Go with the iro-iro maki! Service is typically japanese, i.e....
