Booked a table here pretty last minute. Turned out to be the best choice of our stay in Edinburgh.Excellent food. Wonderful family friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

I and some friends visited the Bar Italia in Lothian Road in April. The main course two of us chose was the Lamb Shanks slowly cooked in red wine, I can honestly say I've never tasted such lovely lamb,and I would certainly go back for the same meal again. Worth a trip to Edinburgh just for this.

We got here on a busy Saturday night with no reservation and were found a table no problem. It was busy and a bit of a tight squeeze, but i think this added to the nice atmosphere.
