It's all about the food and the presentation. In my view, after visiting Chapter One, it's not about the service. Visited as part of a group for my brother's pre wedding dinner. I'll deal with the things I was not expecting first. I never expected to hear the word "no" in a Michelin star establishment yet the sommelier actually told... More

The cuisine really does live up to the star rating it has earned. It was a wonderful dining experience/ The support staff was very welcoming and we felt comfortable from the moment we entered. The selections are modern, inventive and beautifully presented. Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared as requested.

I must admit, Michelin* restaurants in Ireland, I had some doubts ... but this one definitively convinced me. Nice location, good seating (tables wide open), excellent French-based food. Here's the best part : 4 course dinner menu @ 65 € p.p. Adding to this, we took a great Italian Piemonte white wine (Gavi di Gavi @ 44 €) and excellent... More

Enjoyed a meal with my boyfriend here a couple of weeks ago but although the food was delicious there was a noticeable lack of atmosphere to the place. Just a bit too sterile for our liking.

We visited the restaurant having read many good reviews. We didn't think it fully lived up to them, but still worth a visit. The welcome was very effusive and friendly. We chose the four course menu at 65 euros. Each course selection was very different from a normal offering, you need to trust them that the combinations work. For us,... More

My wife and I visited this upmarket restaurant for the first time recently, having received a gift voucher. We were somewhat apprehensive as we would normally frequent restaurants of this standing. We feared over fussiness, un-recognisable food, and a feeling of being out of place. Our fears were unfounded. The staff were friendly and attentive but not excessively so. We... More

As a fairly regular visitor to Chapter One over the years, I can truly say I never tire of eating there, whether for lunch, pre-theatre or the "full-monty" dinner or celebration. The welcome that is offered to guests by Martin or Declan is akin to the warm hug of a good friend or a favourite cousin and that welcome extends... More

It is so easy to be critical these days and rant on the Internet. Therefore, ill start on a negative note. It is a nightmare to book Chapter One. Mainly because everyone else is also trying to book it as well. I think this can fall under the term 'criticism'? Secondly, it's a bit expensive. Why should you be expected... More
