We did arrive quite late from Dublin, but we've been able to order in the mid afternoon chowders and mixed platters. The chowders were tasty, and the shared platters too. Was a nice experience, and appears to be a good choice.

The food here was surprisingly good. We started with the beef nachos which were very flavorful. Not a huge portion as you would get in the States, but that was a good thing. Didn't want to fill up before the main meal.

Had fabulous food here, chowder excellent and fish good too. Just a slight glitch with the drinks. The half carafe of wine was under-filled. The best way you can have a steak, served on a super-heated lava rock. So you decide how little or well done you like your meat as it keeps cooking for up to 40 minutes I believe. Served with dips and great tasting chips adds up to a gourmet meal.

We were a large group that dined here on a busy Saturday night. The food here was of the highest quality. Everybody in the group enjoyed every course they had. The service was also excellent and everybody was very well looked after. A trip to westport is not complete without a visit to The West bar and restaurant!

Yep it's unmissable really. The depth of flavour in the fish stock is as good as the finest bouillabaisse you'll get in the French Basque Country. That makes this dish what it is. Rich, lingeringly lip smacking and full of perfectly cooked fish. Perfect with a pint of stout.
Great food here. We just stopped in because we were walking the town and enjoyed pur lunch very much very much. Nice atmosphere and good staff.
