A very clean pub clean toilets nice staff and the food was great we will be back. lovely pub which has views across fields, near to highworth which has lots of small shops.
A local person recommended this pub. It seemed to be in the middle of no-where but good roads. The place looks a bit old but don't let that put you off the food was great and loads of it. I had the beef pie with the most amazing gravy. We didn't have starters or pudding, we didn't have room. Great... More
We visited the Freke Arms on Saturday 12-10-13 with my parents for a meal we had pre booked for 7.30pm. From the initial welcome right through to the quality of the food we cannot press how impressed we were. The landlord was entertaining and the staff were all polite and courteous. I would not hesitate in recommending this quality pub... More
Booked for dinner with family. Advertises itself as a gastro pub. Most certainly not. Tired place, sticky tables.. you know the kind. Staff behind bar were very unfriendly, got pointed in general direction of the table. After 5 mins we figured out that was going to be the extent of it so back to get menus etc. Food was fine... More
Dropped into Freke Arms in Swanborough on Saturday 14th Sept. Had a lovely lunch. Went back on Thursday evening with some friends and had an even better meal. There were 5 of us and all had a very enjoyable meal. Prices were excellent considering the quality, and quantity of food. It was excellent. Beautifully cooked, good menu choice and a... More
We enjoyed two evening meals over one weekend. Both times the food was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. We will eat there again.
We preordered and when we got there we were told the menu had changed that day and 4 of us had to order from this one. They didn't bring out starters and told us we hadn't ordered any when we had. The mains were a mish mash of sizes, mine was cold and my partners fish was under cooked. The... More
The Freke arms is a good place to eat, with a good traditional pub menu but very good quality food - the beer is good as well! You will need to book or get there early, most of the eating tables are reserved at busy times. The Freke arms is very child friendly with a good kids menu. The staff... More
Visited whilst staying in the area. Food quite good but huge portions that put off my sister and me before we even started to eat. Food prices are average and wine list prices not bad. Would not return in a hurry.
This is a pleasant little pub with freindly staff. Their beer is well looked after and the staff know their drinks. On the evening we visited the food was not up to the mark. It was ok, perfectly edible but it didn't inspire us to consider coming back in a hurry. The chips were a fraction undercooked and the burger... More
