Probably need confirming but Dhoop ? Well I assumed it was Dhoop is no longer ,a deceased parrot ,it is now Roza? Different egg .
We ordered a variety of dishes including fish and chicken tandori, pakoora, pilau rice and a chickpea starter. The waiter also recommended a curry sauce that complemented the dishes brilliantly. They have cobra and kingfisher on draft. To me it seemed that every dish had a bit of extra care taken to make it just that bit more tasty and... More
Left this one feeling a bit confused. I think the interior of the restaurant was bland and uninspiring. The staff were busy without being busy, so the service felt slow. And they don't do diet coke, even though it's on the menu. The confusion was more because the food was better than average. It was well flavoured, but not oily.... More
The food was good quality . Well worth a visit as the fish pakoras were delicious. The prawn saag walla was good but the keema naan was a bit dry. Personally I prefer other Indian restaurants very close by.
A busy sat night on Burton road led us to dhoop. We had to wait a while, over 40mins, for our main. However it was worth the wait as it was amazing. The lady who served us was a little crazy and seemed to be in a bit of a frenzy-and the atmosphere was a little flat. Probably wouldnt go... More
Visited here on a very quiet Thursday night. There were four of us. We had starters, lamb samosas, scallops, squid and lamb kebabs and ordered three main courses, Dahl, chicken jalfrezi and a lamb dish which combined minced lamb with cubed lamb. With this we had two nan, one chapati and one portion of pilau rice. We always share family... More
We selected this place on reading some reviews and wanted to try out a different restaurant. Here is what we liked- Service was prompt, Paneer dish was good and also the nan bread. Lassi was average but the Rogan was tasteless. Overall rating avarage. Maybe we went in with higher expectations.
Not sure if the Didsbury set are just very easy to please but my experience here did not match the other reviews I read beforehand. The food was average at best - the food certainly sounded a lot better on the menu than it tasted on the plate. Portions were also a little small for the prices charged Poppadums lacking... More
Having been offered an hour long wait for three restaurants in a row we walked through the dhoop door purely because of the gorgeous smells. SERVICE: The staff were clearly all family and friends, clearly all very keen to make our visit as pleasant as possible and all delightful. The lady who took our order appeared to be in charge... Love this place. Lovely decor and very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. We ate there for the first time last week and the food we ordered was full of flavour and fresh. You could also have a choice of your dish as mild or as hot as you like. Would most certainly recommend and definitely... More
