This place is a little hidden gem. I highly recommend if you love creative dishes that highlight the uniqueness of cheese and wine. Rather than a wine list on a piece of paper, the bottles are scattered around the restaurant for you to pick up look at and discover on your own, it's a great way to pick wine for... More

We had a Camembert flambert and Brie, leek and potatoe dish, both fantastic! The atmosphere is cheese paradise, cheese maps, paraphernalia for making cheese and packaging everywhere. The cheese room is great for a look and the downstairs "cave" dining area full of atmosphere. I am not sure the cheese buffet is worth having but our dishes were fantastic! Good... More

We were intrigued at the prospect of trying almost 100 different cheeses in the Cave Aux Fromage, the tiny cellar below the tiny restaurant. The friendly English Speaking Manager seated us but service then tapered off. The climate controlled Cave was clean and the cheeses were all well identified. However, I think some were far past their prime. Still, we... More

I am a cheese lover and went there for the cheese buffet twice, once in december and once in june. I could witness how obsequious the chief server is, with "bourgeois" people, or people who have their dinner generously paid by the company and can therefore afford 40€ bottles (half of it for the restaurant), how much he will revel... this place is great for cheese and wine, as you might have read on a lonely planet guide. you better book as it might not have any table left. however, i didn't have the chance to enjoy this wonderful food as the service was so horrible. the waiters are rude, really treat you as they are making you a favor.... The restaurant is situated on a small road close to Place des Quinconces on the west bank of the river. It's a small restaurant with beautiful decor formed mainly by the vast selection of red wine on offer. Everywhere you go in Bordeaux the wine is king and I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who would serve... More

Brilliant place, it's all about cheese! From the moment you open the door, the deco and atmosphere brings you in a typical french restaurant you expect in the countryside, but in the city! Cheese boxes on the wall, wine bottles everywhere...the staff welcomes you and take you through the menu: a "all you can eat" cheese formula (about 30€ if... More

We had lunch here on a day-long wine tour and it was excellent. Four courses - hot goat's cheese, duck, cold cheese baord and lemon pudding. Lots of wine and water. Delicious and a charjming atmosphere!
