This heavily themed restaurant took me back to the early days of Harvester and I was expecting Aunt Sally and Worzel to appear pushing a salad cart. The meal itself was OK and competently served but choosing the 24.50 euro menu, with a couple of drinks, a serious half bottle of wine and coffee the bill for two came to 100... I spent a few days skiing in the first week of May, and I just wish in terms of eating out I had found La Caleche on the first night there - as it was I only went in on my last night! I had found almost all the other restaurants I ate at in the evenings in Chamonix just... More

I feel like I should write a review to counter all of the reviews that dont say that La Caleche is an excellent restaurant. My boyfriend and I have lived in Chamonix for years and never went inside, assuming it was just the same as the other generic savoyard restaurants you get on the main tourist street in Chamonix. However... More

No holiday is complete in French alps for our family without a stomach blocking raclette and fondue experience. At La Caleche we actually decided on hot stones instead, which is a much easier self cooking experience without the fat inducing oil. Must commend restaurant for quality of beef given, which was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable meal in slightly bizarre restaurant. We... More

Wasnt quite sure what to expect here as I booked it by accident reminiscing about a restaurant previously visited in Chamonix, but it was perfectly pleasant and ticked all the boxes for the type of evening that we had planned, quiet, casual and not too expensive after visiting Albert 1er the previous night. Food is tasty and filling, typical Savoyard... More

We had lunch at this restaurant and although the restaurant was empty at 2 pm the service was not very attentive, we had to look for waiters and had to send the soup back because it was cold. one good thing to mention is that it is a very nicely decorated place.

Loved the decorations, delicious food, good wine and great service. Great value for money compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Must visit!

This was our second visit in a week and both times the service was excellent. The staff are most helpful and very friendly. Most of the food is traditional fare. The second night we went 2 people who are not so keen on fondues shared a cheese fondue and they could not believe how good it was and would highly... More

Having walked past this place a number of times on our holiday we decided to save it for our last night and are so glad we did! It looks like a chocolate box / cuckoo clock style from the outside and we weren't disappointed when we got inside. It is typical traditional savoyarde in its style, and specialises in typical...
