Right in the main centre of Augsburg, this converted beer cellar offers a limited selection of typical Bavarian food, along with its own beer. Good friendly atmosphere.

This place is a local hang out for germans, here you'll find a true relaxed bierhalle. They make their own beer and their helles is pretty good as well as pretty pretty cheap! They also had a seasonal beer: the Alligator, which is a doppelbock. This kind of beer was developed here in Munchen and theirs is more on the...

This bar is literally underground. It is accessed from the street down steps. As well as the bar / restaurant, there is its own brewery.
the food is typically Bavarian. I would especially recommend the sausages and the sauerkraut. I am not a lover of pickled food but the latter was very 'moreish'. The bread and dripping is a speciality...

What a better combination than a good Home brewed Beer and Hand Made Spaetzel ? Not to mention the possibility to buy the 3Lt bottle to continue your Party at Home... I wish i could eat all the Spaetzel but since portions are customized for German giants i had to give up at half of it. So unless you can...

This place was recommended to us to try while in Augsburg.
The food was absolutely delicious; the pork tasted like nothing I've ever tasted here in the States.
This place was PACKED from wall to wall...I guess that's a reflection of how good the food and service is.
Our waitress was AWESOME...she made the experience even better.
I recommend this...

If you want to try a typic Bavarian cook, you have just to come here. I found it authentic in all its style: genuine in food, truthful in prices. For a not so big city like Augsburg, I think it is a really good place to eat a good Bavarian menu (including beer, obviously) for a not so big price.
Great regional food choices that are reasonably priced. Charming interior with a lot of character. The service was good and the food was delivered quickly.
The only problem we had was finding the place! We actually walked past it three times without seeing it. So, if you want to go, it's at 12 Karolinenstrasse, but is half way along the large bookshop and down a flight of stairs. Inside is atmospheric and has lots of character and on the evening we were there a folk...

This restaurant was reccomended by the training staff at MTU Augsberg, as being true Bavarian cuisine.
I had the Goulash Soup, and the "mixed grill platter" - I have to say, this was the highlight of a fortnight's food in the city - the soup was amazing, and the mixed grill was well presented, with superbly cooked meats.
Beer is...

We were recommended to go here by the hotel as I am coeliac, and had a great meal. It was huge and couldn't eat it all but had the goulash to start and then a baked potato and salad..could have had the steak with herb butter but wasn't that hungry. Good pub type food and atmosphere and the staff were...
