We ducked in here during a down pour. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and were very friendly and helpful. Small, cozy place with a great atmosphere. We only had a few tapas as we had dinner plans for later. Smoked Bacalao on toast with sauce was excellent. Abondigas de la abuela and chistora were both very... More

We went to La Carbonería a couple of times during our weekend in Madrid. The staff are very friendly and make you feel completely at ease. If you give in easily to a bit of peer pressure, you will drink a lot! The olives are amazing here. Very good wine, too. We tried the galician mussels one night, which were... More

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Not only is the food extremely overpriced as well as very underwhelming, the service at this restaurant was some of the worst that I have ever had. Had a really nice night there. The owner and staff were very friendly and the food was good, though not exceptional. It was helped by the fact that my daughter, living in Madrid speaks good Spanish. Can't remember what I ate there - the drinks must have been flowing a bit freely.

My dad and I had a terrible time at this restaurant. The owner and waiter was down our throats trying to make us buy as many things as possible. I DO NOT recommend this place. Only if you enjoy being bothered every second.

Food is one of the best in our Spain trip, its a must go restaurant! you cant find similar taste of food elsewhere because it feels like home-made. i think the meat ball is the best among all, the staff said its a grandma type home-made meat ball and we really cant find any better in the rest of our... Stop by at the end of a long day for a few pinchos and a glass of wine or beer. You will be made to feel at home and the proprietor Carlos will make you feel like a member of the family. Simple and humble surroundings, home style cooking with zero pretentiousness. Come here to relax and chat with other... More
