Eat in the tourist restaurants that ply their trade by the entrance to the archaeological ruins or eat where the locals do. This is not a fine dining restaurant. This is a fantastic, busy, affordable, family run establishment with vibrant authentic atmosphere. Most importantly the food was fantastic! We ate lunch on a busy Public Holiday when it seemed life... More

Todisco is very popular with local people at lunchtime: you take a number from the machine to the right of the front door, and when you see your number light up on the sign behind the end counter, go point at the trays of food, and Gennaro will tell you what they are and what the sauces are. Dishes cover... More

Cozy restaurant, delicious food, charming service and cheap prices: The best one in Pompeii! All the food is home made: just ask the waiter, he will tell you "lo faciamo noi!" :))

Although we arrived at the restaurant too early (it opens at 7:30pm), the owner (Katerina) and her brother gave us a wonderful tour of the kitchen, etc and invited us to stay until it opened. Katerina is an amazing pianist and she called her daughter who stopped by to play a duet. We drank the family's own brewed beer which... More

Firstly, the addresses shown in TA can be misleading, Via S Giuseppe is the back of the restaurant and doesn't have an entrance, you have to go round the block to Piazza Schettini but it's well worth the short walk. The entrance doesn't exactly look 5 star, there's a take away that locals use at the front, behind this is... More

hidden gem, great people and genuine food. Had a few meals at this hidden gem and you cannot beat it on price and flavour. When residents eat there you know its good. My italian husband could not fault it and we had a fantastic spread for a small price. Really genuine, fresh food is served up and free tasters are... More

We stay in Pompeii for two nights and found this restaurant from TA with lots of good reviews so we decided to give a try. After whole day in the ruins we were tired and hungry, we reach Todisco at about 7pm and the restaurant seems not open yet, and from the outside it really look a bit run down,... More

The service was personable and the food seemed homemade and gourmet. They had a large selection of food items. Prices were affordable. They even had homemade alcohol. Even though there was a language barrier, as they spoke Italian and we spoke English, they made a great effort to communicate with us. They had a large dining area, and it looks... More

When we arrived we were a little suprised because we can in via the self-service entrance. at first look, didn't look very cosy to sit in. However, when we said we came for the restaurant, they led us to the garden where it was very nice to sit. Me and my partner both had a pasta and then a main... More

Very tasty food, excellent staff - open, friendly and helpful, not expensive. We have spent wonderful 3 hrs there without even noticing the time. The location is not in the center, and it's quite good, because you will not find many tourists there, thus, you will get a chance to feel the real Italian atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant!... More
