Bought two beers. Waiter took 50€ and gave 14€ change. I shouted to him and he ignored me. I felt mildly embarrassed that maybe I had misread that he had gone off to get me a 20€ note. I waited and waited and he didn't come back. I went to find him and he tried to deny it, although he... More

Waited for 1 hour for the food. They forgot our order. Lots of people. Only good thing was the pizza (even if we got the wrong one). Cappricciosa salad was OK. Very expensive. Spacious.

The white suit staff has got no idea of customer care.. they think they are doing you a favor by serving you.... and it look as if you are paying sooo much to get treated real bad .....do not go anyway near the restaurant....just avoid the restaurant because of the staff .. the food is over priced and the service... We went to this place twice during our short tourist trip to Rome. The first time we stopped for a drink, having just arrived, checked in to our hotel and gone out for a walk. This place was near our hotel, near the Vatican. On this occasion the service was good and despite it being January we sat outside and... More

My husband and I stopped here to eat because we were exhausted after arriving in Rome from the US that morning and then taking a 4 hour walking tour of the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. We had low hopes given the touristy location and menu in like 7 languages. Unfortunately our hopes were met. My spaghetti carbonara was inedible.... More

During our walk around the Vatican City the heavens opened and we decided we were a little hungry so would dive into a restaurant for lunch to shelter from the rain. This was the first restaurant we came across and shortly after entering the place we wished we had found somewhere else. The staff were very rude and you felt... More

I can't believe I had this app in my bag and still stopped here! Overpriced is an understatement! A 6 euro sodapop and 16 for a beer. Wait staff very good, but food not so much. This is right outside St Peters, and tempting after a long walk or Vatican visit, but just grab a panini from a street vendor... More

We stumbled into the Universal Bar desperately tired and hungry. What a mistake we made not walking another block to find a better restaurant. The service was so slow. There were lots of staff running around looking very busy but that didn't mean the drinks arrived quickly or our food. We waited for ages. And when our pasta came it... More

The restaurant is full of tired tourists who have to find a place to eat close to the Vatican, and the poor waiters are run ragged trying to make a lot of hungry and grouchy people happy. A thankless and impossible task. If you're stopping here it's probably because you took longer to visit St. Peter's than expected, and it... More
