What an amazing place to eat! This restaurant was recommended on our first night by our hotel and we were not disappointed! An extensive menu which catered for a coeliac vegetarian (not an easy ask) the food was exquisite as was the wine! The waiters could not have been more helpful, friendly and fun, you could tell they enjoyed their... More

Was a frantic day in Florence, too much to see, too many crowds - I was ready to give up. Decided on a whim to walk into Ristorante Giannino, and that was my favorite thing about Florence (except for David!). Besi was our most accomodating server, explained in depth the Florentine philosopy on steak, discussed the wine list in depth... More

We travel quite a bit and are used to coming into towns with no idea as to the best places to eat. One rule we have learnt is that if you find anywhere with very good reliable food to eat don't bother going elsewhere as chances are you will end up at places which don't serve good food. There are... More

Visited Ristorante Giannino on a Friday evening, located just a short walk from the Duomo and where I was staying. Managed to get a table outside. Service was great and quick considering it was quite busy. Staff are lovely and friendly. The pizza was delicious alongside a glass of house red wine. Total bill including service charge came to 15... More

On our first evening our hotel recommended this restaurant, having read that Florence was not good for vegetarians I was mre than a little nervous however our waitress Sabina immediately made me comfortable, she too is a veggie and Ade some great recommendations for me. We were so impressed that we reserved a able for our silver wedding anniversary meal,... More

We wanted to try a good steak Florentine and the concierge at our hotel helped us to make a reservation here. The service was great and we were well looked after. The atmosphere was nice and the steak Florentine was truly a great cut of beef. Located in a very touristy area very close to the Duomo so the prices... More

Living near Venice it's difficult to get a good steak as its so focused on fish. So we were looking forward to having some meat during our visit to Florence. The San Lorenzo area had quite a lot of meat serving restaurants so we chose the one which seemed the busiest. It was a Sunday night and many restaurants were... More

My friends and I passed this restaurant a few times while walking around in Florence. Noticing that it had received a lot of awards, we stopped in. The pork dishes were well seasoned and moist and the the bisstecca (Florentine style steak) was medium-rare and well seasoned (not too salty). The house wine and the service were great as well.... First you you'd think from the outside that the place is touristy. The staff were very nice and funny . The wine was the best one we've had during our 5 days in Italy! We've tried 3 main dished and all of them were brilliant! Highly recommended!

We went in search of THE restaurant to have lunch in after a Segway Tour of Florence and came across Giannino in San Lorenzo, Florence. Immediately the welcome was very friendly but not the ridiculous over-the-top welcome used by some to get you in their restaurant. The staff were so down to earth, funny and we found ourselves sharing, jokes,... More
