Having been going to l'osteria for 15 years I am never disappointed. What I normally eat is somewhat predictable: fried fresh porcini or bruschetta with gorgonzola and sliced truffle followed by wild boar or rabbit I can honestly say that the standard is astonishingly high and the price is very reasonable. The "posh" restaurants do not have a look in; you... I enjoyed an incredibly delicious Vitello tonnato in this tiny restaurant. But only after we got some great appetizers for free! We sat inside where it was cool and dark, but it is great to sit outside and enjoy some local wines.

Real Toscany food, very well prepared. Restaurant rustic and cozy, in the city center. Not expensive. Suggested dishes: ribollita, pici and peposo..!

Recommended by Antonio at the Borgo Grondaie and we were no disappointed. A very quaint place, lots of locals eat here. The two of us enjoyed our meal, one roast chicken with rosemary, and one wild boar done with chocolate, pine nuts, raisins and almonds . Nothing "gamey" in this recipe. With a liter of house wine this was a... More

We went to L'osteria twice and we really loved the place and the food. We choose pasta and bruscheta with funghi porcini. Delicious. In the second visit my husband choose Pici and it was execellent. The outside of the restaurant is very simple and you should not pay attention to it. Try the wine, the good food and enjoy Siena.

If, on your visit to Siena, you can afford to park at San Francesco; on your way to the Campo, you will pass, (on the via Rossi), one of Siena's best restaurants. It doesn't look too much from the outside. You'd be forgiven if you dismissed it as yet another “tourist menu” dump – but you'd be wrong...so wrong. L'Osteria... More

My brother and sister-in-law have been to this restaurant a few times - this was my first time. A little off the beaten path but still fairly close to the main square - the food was very good and the staff very helpful. I had the chicken salad. This was a very simple dish of Valeriana (close to watercress -... More
