It is like to be back in time, nice place, nice people, home made food, effervescent at lunch time, must be better classified here.
My tip, avoid bred, butter etc.
Eat a delicious Pastel de Bacalhau, cod fish with potatoes and eggs, deep fried in olive oil, crunch, dry, perfect!
Them a Dourada Grelhada, nice hole sea fish, opened and...

My local friends suggested me the place as an alternative to the restaurant breakfast, and they were absolutely right. This place is brilliant, but really dangerous: you can easily get addicted to it, as I did - and only in a few days. If you are around, I highly recommend visiting it: you wont be disappointed. But do not forget...

We went to eat and the food wasn't great at all!!! We have walked around Lisbon, and we have seen many pastelerias with better and cheaper things!
This is a real classical in Lisbon since 1922! Opened in the mid 20's, old-fashioned style, 90 years later still the same style, service, and good food/pastries.
I would say: go there not for Lunch or Dinner, but for breakfast or afternoon tea. Delicious pastries, very good service and good location.
Saying that, you will love it. Good to go...

This is a real find, with old fashioned grandeur, and an incredible display counter full of gorgeous baked goods. The Portuguese custard tarts (Pastel de nata) are a real treat. Table service is available, however, you can also stand at the long display counter, and have your morning espresso and pastries for a lower price than table service.
This is a place where you can just buy a pastry to take out, or enjoy anything from a light snack with coffee or tea to a full meal. The interior is almost like a Viennese coffee house - lots of polished wood, one long wall consists of huge wood/glass cabinets. The waiters are attentive and friendly. It's clearly popular...

Old fashioned style cake shop with waiters in dickie bows. Love the tradition of the place. Beautiful room with lots of very stylish customers eating and drinking. Only had a coffee and cake, but both very good and if in this part of Lisbon again would certainly visit. Not really near the tourist hotspots but great cafe.
I go quite often to Pastelaria Versailles to take the breakfast. I like their orange juice made at the time, and the sandwiches with the bread still warm. Less often I have dinner there. The last time I went with my mother, my son and his Czech girlfriend. The "Bifinhos do Lombo” were" excellent. Our fellow Czech, ranked them as...

Cafe Versailles has got to be the one of the best restaurants in Lisbon. Try their Cordon Bleu, it was excellent!
