On the basis of Tripadvisor reviews I had booked this meal before leaving England. It was to be a highlight of our week in Madeira. And we were not disappointed! Excellent food, beautifully presented, served by professional staff in interesting surroundings. What more can we ask? Well, a reasonable price I suppose.....and we got that as well. The bill was... Wnet here on recommendation from an Italian restaurant in Funchal. We were not disappointed. We selected the option of choosing from the A la carte menu plus accompanying wines for a set price of about 37 Euros. The food was exceptionally good and the wine glasses refilled when getting emptu. The food was presented in a modern way and tasted... More

This is a delightful restaurant that is hidden away off the main road, but once you find it you will not be disappointed. The serving staff are excellent and very eager to please. I declined the amuse bouche because it was something that I don't eat, moments later an unexpected alternative was presented - which is unusual my experience. The... More

We dined here twice during our stay in Madeira. We found the restaurant by chance as it is a little away from the old town restaurant drag. Our experience on both occassions was amazing. Set in an old salt store the restaurant offers a la carte and also a special package with or without drinks. On both occassions we went... More

This international diner is tucked down an alley off the Rua da Alfandega which runs parallel to the sea and the second behind the cathedral. A difficult place to find so look out for the hanging sign with a knights armour and shield on it. Mains are around Eu17 but the special set menu at Eu37 is highly desirable with... More

Have been there 2 times and was satisfied. Nice setting with live music. The 2nd time we took a menu offering at 37€ pp which offered good value for money. apero + amuse-bouche+ starter + main course + desert + wine. The food was good, well presented. The wine was what you can expect in a menu. Correct. Nice environment... More

Rated number one on here and could not agree more. Difficult to find but as other reviews have commented, it is sooo worth it. We spent one whoe afternoon when overcast trying to find its... More

Visited this place twice whilst in Funchal. 1 st on Friday eveing and we just got in in time as we hadn't booked. The insidetables were fully booked and the outside tables were filling up. In the time we were there they were turning people away. The food is fantastic, the staff knowledgable and the surroundings really nice. We tried... More

We visited this restaurant for the third time last week to celebrate my birthday. We had the wine inclusive deal, and feel this is good value for a special occasion. My wife and I both had the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great, although we preferred the female artist singing on our previous visits to... More

We had never eaten here on previous visits to Funchal but attended with a local friend in the light of its top rating on tripadvisor. We may have been unfortunate or it may be the case that the guitarist/singer is a regular feature. Whichever, this was an intrusion which we could have done without. Most of the positive reviews seem... More
