For the best view under the Acropolis right before the entrance to the ancient site, look no further, it's the only cafe/restaurant. But, it's been operating for decades and the aging shows. Service is poor, food is canned and not fresh (lots of other traditional tavers offer the real thing), coffee is horrible. And it's all too expensive. Just spend... More

Don't think about it...just go in the evening, not with a tour group and be prepared for an unforgettable dinner. Start after 8pm...watch the atmosphere change as the sun sets, take your time over dinner. Then take a stroll back to your hotel. This is a slight splurge for Athens, quite good value in general...about 50€ a head for three... More

We had a fantastic dinner after a very long flight from the US. The lamb was incredibly tender and the service was well above par. The view of the Acropolis at night was spectacular. Prices are a bit high but well worth it just for the experience and the view. If the weather is nice you can ask them to... More

For an intimate evening in a city full of colorful people and ancient sights, make it a POINT to have dinner at Dionysos Zonars! All the tour companies will want to haul you off to group meals filled with cheesy dancing and singing and mediocre food (at best!) BUT if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view... More

To dine at Zonar's Dionyssos is an excellent and "must" choice when in Athens. All other restaurants and cafe places around the citadelle rock are inferior when view of Acropolis is to be compared! On the other side, it is also very important to walk to Dionyssos on the Dionyssiou Areopoagitou walk way passing through Plaka area. The New Acropolis... More

The spot is Fantastic! I was escorted a KEY TOURS group for dinner. The menu was quite good but rather expensive. Nevertheless it was worth it due to the view. Parthenon is really a place to see...

I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner so you may see the view of the Acropolis all lit up at night. The food was delicious and the service outstanding!!

We have now been in Athens for 4 days and have been very disappointed in the standard of food. That is until we went to Dionysos. Everything about this restaurant from the moment you step inside states class. The chateaubriand was wonderful. The staff were excellent, pleasant without being obtrusive. We have decided to have lunch here and dinner the... More

Although the fish soup was not as sublime as one might have desired, the breathtaking view of the acropolis hill was enough to fill us with joy. Quality of service was high by Greek standrds. Ample space to park. Tranquility, zero noise, mouth-watering view. Contrasts to anything one might hate about Athens...

Go to the area for the view or have a beverage at the establishment but we can't recommend dining here. The view, of course, is impressive at night but the restaurant does not own the view. The prices are truly extortionist and has anybody else seen chateaubriand served with french fries but no other veggies? 2 of us shared 1... More
