We were looking for good restaurants and this one came up in our google search. It was a little more expensive than we were hoping but the food was well worth it. We all got different meals so we could try the various offerings. Orange Ruffy, Whale and a Seafood Mixture. We also got the hering plate and puffin for... More

We went to this cute little restaurant on our first night in Iceland, and were delighted to find a real gem unmatched by any other restaurant we visited on our trip. The fish soup was the best soup we have ever had (ever). The entrees were also delicious. Definitely a place to visit again!

I ordered. Martini, which was a mistake, and not very good (they have trouble with cocktails in Iceland). We started with the muscles and reindeer pâté. Both were very good. I had orange roughy. My only complaint is that all the fish dishes come with some sort of heavy cream sauce. The fish is so delicious, so I'm not sure... More

Wonderful place, quaint and cozy. Service was great. I made reservations for a Friday night. I ordered the steamed mussels and the plokkfiskur (Icelandic dish), and a glass of wine. Great meal for a decent price in Iceland. Would definitely go back again.

We recently dined at 3 Frakkar in Reykjavik, based on the recommendation of a local. It's a small restaurant with cozy seating just a few minutes walk from the major shopping street in Reykavik. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered drinks (and were already aware that alcohol is very expensive and taxed at 25.5% in Iceland). The... More

We ate at this Icelandic restaurant twice during our visit to Reykjavik and enjoyed the culinary delights of being introduced to some traditional Icelandic foods; such as, whale, shark, puffin, gravlax, horse, and lamb accompanied by a lovely bottle of wine and topped off with dessert, skyr brulee, a specialty. The ambiance was warm and charming and the wait staff... More

My wife and I tried a few of their Icelandic dishes. The food was very good and the service was very efficient - probably the best we had in Iceland. We walked in without reservations on a Wednesday night in April. Reservations would likely be needed on weekend and in the summer as the place is pretty small.

Food at the Frakkar was excellent. Friendly waiters and good service. I ordered an orange roughy and lobster dish which was heavenly, also got a complimentary soup with the dish. Must try if you are in Reykjavik.

This is a nice restaurant a few minutes walk away from the downtown tourist core and located in a more residential neighhood. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere of the restaurant and the authentic Icelandic dishes. I would recommend the has fish which comes with some sweet tasting black bread. Very good! Be aware that the prices are a bit on... More
