The service is good the food is hit & miss ! I have had some great food here over the years but in the last 12 months it has become a lottery wether you have a good meal or a really bad meal !
Based on previous Reviews, and being in Vienna for 7 days, we tried this restaurant on our first evening - indeed, and not being sure about busy restaurants might be (our first visit to Vienna), we even telephoned a couple of days before to make a reservation. We both had minestrone soup - OK, but perhaps a bit too much... More
Pizza was very good ... thin crust and enough toppings. Very Italian. Salad was of a good size with lots of variety. Service was quick and friendly. Wine suggestions worked out to be excellent. The restaurant was located across from our Hotel Mercure Biedermeir. I would recommend this spot for an evening dinner.
I am Italian and I am pretty sure I am able to recognize a good pizza, well what I ate in this restaurant was something awful. I went with my sister to Trimelli restaurant during my visit to Vienna. We both were very hungry and really wanted to taste some Italian cuisine in Vienna. Not like many Italian restaurants where pizzas are too hard, or too thin, or almost American like, here pizzas were just good. And pastas sound (and taste) like pasta. located on landstrasse, an excellent shopping and gastronomy street in vienna's 3rd district, trimelli has delicious pastas (i recommend the tagliatelle with eierschwarmmerl or pasta arrabiata), and i've had the lemon tart several times for dessert--i highly recommend it. service is friendly, and atmosphere is casual.
I have gone to Trimelli for years - and will most probably go again. It does have a very good menu with a part that varies according to season. And usually the food is very good. At this last visit, the cook was maybe a bit stressed? not enough taste on the Linguine with asparagus, very little asparagus to be... More
