Very good wiener schnitzel. The place is not that comfortable, but the quality of the food is excellent, and the staff are very pleasant
Visiting Eastern Europe on vacation. Found the food not only hot but delicious. The waiter was very courteous and attentive. Food and drink brought promptly. Perfect lunch!
The restaurant sits in a little square under a statue of Gutenberg, erected in 1900 to commemorate 500 years of book printing in Vienna. The square is off of the main tourist drag between Schwedenplatz and Stephansplatz, and a lot quieter than the hussle and bussle on the main road. It is rather hidden from the main road by the... Well, let's start from the fact that my last visit there was in August 2012, not October :) I still remember the taste of those steaks and I doubt I'll ever forget! First time I tried chicken steak and once a pumpkin seed steak. TOTALLY amazing taste!!!! Beer (OBVIOUSLY) is great too! (I normally take unfiltered draught ones) Portions are... More
I stumbled across Café Gutenberg after trying to go to Figmuller's for a Vienise Schnitzel. The upstairs of the Café is smoking and looks like a fairly typical smokey café. Terrible servise damaged overall experience, they forgot the proper approach to clients. Spilled out milk when they bring a coffee, one milk for two coffees, and so many small things which are unpleasant for the evening....

The xxl schnitzel is indeed large, yet could be more tasteful. Service by the grumpy waiters needs definately attention. Nice touch to give your change in small coins and wait at... More
We stumbled across this place as we were in the centre and was beginning to rain. It sheltered us, and due to its limited seating inside we had to sit at a table outside. Though under a canopy we had our feet in a pool of rain, however blankets were supplied as the wind was driving the rain were we... More
Stumbled over this cafe whilst trying to escape the crowds around the cathedral. Service was attentive and our waiter also spoke perfect English. We both had the chicken schnitzel with salad, the portion was huge, and the content of the salad interesting , potato, beet root along with the main salad content you would expect. We ate outside which was... More
Located in the historic center, with a small garden on Gutenberg platz, is a good place for lunch or dinner. The waiter was attentive and the food delicious. They offer a large variety of dishes of asparagus, fish, or different kind of meat, but (when we're in Vienna) we've ordered menu consisted of soup, Viennese schnitzel, salad and Sacher cake... More
