Recommended by my B and B owner, who apparently set this up nearly 30 years ago. Good call excellent concise menu of soups to mains all well cooked and presented. Excellent just for a coffee too. Recommended.

I used to be a student in Bergen and stayed on after the studies for a total of 12 years. Cafe Opera was there when I moved to Bergen in the eighties and it's still there! One of my favorite dishes when I came to Opera back in the days was garlic shrimps - and they still have them on...

This is one of my favorite lunch restaurants in my hometown Bergen. I can recommend this restaurant/cafe because of the relaxed atmosphere, value for money and food quality. Café Opera is a restaurant, bar and club all wrapped into one. It's nearly always crowded. Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, - Norway
The place is relatively cheap (Norway is uber expensive) - not very comfortable sitting, the decor is boring. service was friendly and the food was satisfying.
Consdering the prices of the city this place is not so out of the line, however still expensive. After 11 pm the tables of the restaurants are taken away and it becomes a club. Really nice. Nice people.
A place worth to see and definately try out . They have small classics like gratinated shrimps, A lovely chicken soup saturdays. It is nearly 30 years and has kept the stile and hospitality for all these years. A nice aerea outside where you are bound to meet an old friend.
It is surprisingy cheap and you get a good...

This is and has been quite a while my favourite cafe in Bergen. Its location, atmosphere and food is all great and affordable. They´ve also recently started serving a "local" microbrew from Flåm. Lots of happenings all the time, this is an institution in Bergen!
I was very impressed by the decent prices at this cafe (compared to other restaurants in Norway)! The atmosphere was great; it seemed to be a restaurant that a lot of the locals went to, which was great to see. Very attentive staff and quick service. Would definitely reccommend!
There is something very 80ies about Cafe Opera, although the times have changed elsewhere. But they still offer a good time with drinks and music. No over-the-top loud noise disturbing the conversation. Centrally located. Not too many dishes on the menu, but the quality of the food was high. Prices are high (28 USD for a hamburger). I recommend a...

Normally, near a theatre you would expect the food prices to be high, but the Cafe Opera has nice food at reasonable prices. I just had a lovely meal there with my wife, and we were both thoroughly impressed with the service and the food.
The menu is small, but the quality of the food was excellent. I had a...
