The place does not look posh but the food is to die for.... I had the lobster soup which was lovely but the best bit was the fish platter. Really filling and fantastic taste. Great service! a must go place.

I travel the word in business, but when it comes to fish restaurants, my first choice is Sjobua in Alesund. Try the lobster soup as starter. It comes with a bread crust on top of the plate. Incredible. Good location, extraordinary Bachalau and cod the local people rank this the top restaurant. It is expensive though, you need to budget... More

It´s a classic to go here whenever you wanna take someone special (or a special occasion) to a great safe meal. There are rarely any big surprices here but the food is great. Loved the garlic butter!

On our last evening in Norway, we wanted to enjoy some spectacular seafood in alesund. We looked online and found this place with great reviews, so we made a reservation and waited two hours in anticipation. The let down was immense. In general, this place is a bit full of itself. The place is very fancy and the waiters are... More

Lovely fish dishes and a nice maritime interior with the canal just outside the window. They have their own lobster pool and a pool with fresh fish. Good service.

I had the most disgusting dinner in a while the mussels where overcooked the lobster au gratin overcooked and with lots of cheese on top the panna cotta too sweet and the service rushed. And please clean your window so to have a nice view at least!

We mostly had whale entree and reindeer main. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection . The restaurant is old style with club lounges open fire place and warm and inviting. There was a good range of fresh fish available. The prices are fairly high but compared to other restaurants here was value for money. Loved it and recommend... More

The food was fantastic, very hot, more sauce and potatoes as standard, welcoming too of a small baby - water served in silverware, really great place either as a group or for a romantic meal for two

On my latest trip to Alesund a colleague of mine recommended we go and have dinner in Sjobua. So we went to check it out, and it was absolutely fantastic. The quality of the seafood is top-drawer. I went for the mussels for starter, and monkfish for the main course. Both of these were superb. They also have some really... More
