Six of us had a light lunch here yesterday, in the 'snug' room across the courtyard. Really nice home cooked food, interesting selection of juices and good coffee (in a glass!). Tried the Kandahar cake which is a poppy seed sponge and was excellent!

I am very surprised to read all of these other reviews as we were here this morning and weren't impressed. We both had toasties with a little salad on the side - lettuce was surprisingly gritty and unwashed, coffee was bitter and served in two small little glasses. When we tried to pay the girl was eating her lunch and...

I would like to personally apologise if your salad was gritty. It is delivered fresh and unwashed and requires washing by ourselves, which we clearly did not do adequately in this case. I can offer no explanation for your coffee (Presumably a latte, since it was in a glass). No-one has previously made any unfavourable comment on it, and we...

This cafe really is as good as everyone says. Friendly welcome, cosy interior, great food, excellent range of leaf tea, good service - and all very reasonably priced. Its hard to find a "proper" cafe these days, but this certainly is one - we'll be back !
Thank you so much for your lovely words, which are much appreciated by everyone involved, we want everyone to enjoy the Tearooms as much as we do.

I have been here a few times now and always it is a nice experience. It is in a lovely old building coming into the far more interesting old part of Poole, when you step inside it's cosy with a lovely garden and another extension which I've named, ask the owners!!!
Seriously the food is always good, also the cakes...

Lucky enough to get a recommendation from a man at the Poole Museum and nearly walked past it - an unassuming doorway between shop fronts. Weather not good so we were taken to the room at the back of the courtyard - like our very own private tea room !
Very cosy, friendly and a must for tea-lovers. Superb cream...

I visited the courtyard with my friend Jackie, we had the "best cream tea" we have ever had, warm freshly cooked scones and so very very tasty, plenty of jam and loads of clotted cream. I have had cream teas in the past and there just isn't enough cream but not at the courtyard, fantastic little place hidden away, proper...

This place is the finest tea room I've ever been in. It's olde-worlde style, eclectic decor, and excellent location combined with an amazing range of teas make this a real gem. Friendly, attentive, knowledgable staff, the chance to have the same tea that Scott drank in 1910 (not the same batch.....that would be nasty by now, but the same spec),...

We went here for lunch after reading TripAdvisor reviews and it was definitely worth it. It felt like being in someones house but this just gave it a nice homely feel. It took the term 'tea room' to a whole new level and as a fond tea lover the variety was excellent as were the prices. The food was simple...

We've been visiting Poole for years but only just discovered this little jewel. A beautiful little place. Everything was served freshly made and beautifully cooked. Such a joy to find somewhere that prides itself so highly and takes time to serve beautiful ingredients so perfectly. The teapots were a final touch of luxury. Lovely.
On a v cold day walking through Poole around lunchtime stumbled across this delight. Very friendly and attentive service. We only wanted a small snack so had broccoli and cheese soup (gorgeous) and a huge jacket potato with a nice salad. After my recent rant about the lack of salad dressings at cafes it is a delight to report that...
