One minute it's there and now it's gone and much missed, we can only hope that it reopens again in the near future and is as good as it was
The Saffron Lounge closed suddenly on apprx 4 July 2013. Not sure why or if it will reopen. Shame because it was a great place.
We live in Peterborough and totally disregard all our local restaurants and head 25 minutes away to Saffron Lounge! The food is amazing every time, I literally can't order my Tandoori Butter Chicken anywhere else as it never compares. You will NOT be disappointed with a visit here. It's such great value and you get so much food. Please don't... More
For £9.95 a head this restaurant is incredibly good value and the food is very good! I was surprised to see the amount of choice that is available for such an affordable price. We ordered a selection of dishes including a mixed starter which included a very good Chicken Tikka but a rather oily Bhaji (cooked fresh), a Lamb Passanda... More
Been here numerous times either as a couple , family or DREGS outing ( 18 male retirees) The food is always of good quality , lots of variety etc. For £9.95 which includes Starters, Mains , Side Dishes, Nan's & Rice you cannot go wrong. Going so often it is nice to try different dishes and not stick with the... More
Been twice now and ordered 2 different types of 3 course meals and the outcome was the same, tasted amazing, service was great and the bill was a good price too so definitely worth it if you like Indian food. Nice atmosphere, ok background music and the decor made it a nice warming welcome feel and the staff very helpful... More
This is a great place for an Indian, always had great food, plenty of it, lots of choice, never had bad service, and price you can not beat it. I believe now opened the Buddha Lounge (Thai) in Stamford) but can not find and information to book a table.
My wife & I love Indian food & regularly go to The Saffron Lounge because the food is very good, the atmosphere is peacefull & the service is second to none. The variety of dishes is huge, meaning you never really know what you want to try next. All the chefs recommended dishes are well worth trying & the diferrent... More

Maybe this is a matter of choice personally I prefer a more traditional feel. The service was rushed and not Particuarly inviting. Although it is good value, I can get... More
Visited the Saffron lounge for the second time and wasn't dissapointed. At £9.95 for 5 dishes (starter, main, rice, side and bread) you come out completely stuffed. We went with our two girls (10 and 11) and the kids prices stop at age 8 so we had no choice but to let them have the full menu. We have no... More
