This place works on some many levels. The village is quiet and picturesque but not far from A1 and Stamford, Oakham and Grantham. There is plenty of parking, and in the summer a decent garden. I love this place, it is a beautiful well looked after building and the staff are excellent. I have been several times for just a drink and had the nibbles, I usually get the olives and nuts. A cosy pub that was so pleasant to relax in that we did not mind the fact that the young waitresses were overstretched and not as attentive as they could have been. This did not detract from a lovely dining experience with delicious food. We will definitely return.

Third visit now and again can't fault the place. For such an imposing building the management team have definitely made this feel a cosy and welcoming pub. Second visit just made (well it is 130 miles from home!) and had a perfect lunch with the family. Nice atmosphere, friendly team and the pork is astonishingly good. Also well impressed by anywhere that produces a cheese menu when you opt for the cheese plate as an alternative to dessert. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.
