Had a fantastic experience at the Bay Horse today. Went for lunch with my wife and baby daughter and friends. I have to say they were superb! On the booking form I asked if it would be possible for a high chair...when we arrived we were shown into the upstairs room (fitting for Pentecost Sunday!) to a lovely table all... More

We visited this restaurant as a birthday treat and the overall experience was very good. We did find the food very rich for our taste so next time we would skip lunch before going there for dinner. The option of trying all the desserts between two people is a particular favourite of ours and this alone is a reason to... More

We visited this restaurant following their write up in Sawdays and they deserve the praise it gives them. This is the best food in the region, and there are some pretty good places around. The restaurant/pub is lovely, the ambience is relaxing and the satff couldn't be more helpful. The daily specials menu is particularly good value and the sweets... More

This was our second visit here, and we really enjoyed the high quality of all the various components of the restaurant. I do however have one slight complaint,I realise that the menu on their website is only an example of the food served, but I think the prices should more accurately reflect what you can expect to pay,as the majority of maincourses... I am so glad that we decided to go back to the Bay Horse after our first very mediocre experience. We had heard rave reviews and were really dissapointed with the reality of it. But its true what they say ," second time around is better" . The menu is complicated and the food combinations may sound a little weird... More

We recently visited this pub to celebrate a special birthday and decided on the " French Tuesday " option as we all love any food which is French related. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and took great care of us throughout the evening. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the candles gave the restaurant a... More

Really good food served in a traditional village pub with fine dining. Good value for money and we have never been disappointed.

My partner and I decided to go here for my 30th Birthday as a special treat as we knew it was quite expensive. Bar area very busy when we arrived which is a good sign! We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. Staff were very attentive without being over the top. Restaurant was busy and had a nice... More

Went on a weeknight, place was very quiet but still had a good atmosphere. Its lovely inside. However I ordered the duck only to be presented with a tiny tiny piece of duck and lots of assoretd duck tasting pieces of food. NONE of which tasted good. Would much have preferred a whole well cooked duck breast not a tiny... More

Four of us...all foodies...two of us in the industry...had an excellent lunch...again! The service was first class...unfussy, prompt and attentive. The fixed lunch menu is amazing value. Three of us had the fish cakes...some of the best I have ever tasted....so often fish cakes are a big let down...tasting of very little fish. These ones were packed with flavour. The... More
