We spend a beautiful few hours in sunshine overlooking the bay. Service was exceptional and very helpful with menu.We had the Fish soup and the waiter even explained how to add the different elements of the dish to get the best flavour !!! This really added to the whole dining experience. The Plate de jour is a little dearer than... More

We met Jamal on the dock, one afternoon in Cassis. He is a fisherman that my husband struck up a conversation with in French. Where do we dine tonight? Jamal mentioned to us Le Grand Bleu. We loved the ambiance, our dinner, wine & we sat next to two wonderful French people. We laughed, shared stories. Our server was charming.... More

We slected this restaurant based on Trip Advisor comments. As most times we are happy to have followed this recommendation. Great service. Good food. I would recommend this place.

Based on previous Trip Advisor recommendations, we stopped at this seaside cafe yesterday for lunch. What a waste. We cannot understand how this place gets the kind of positive ratings it earns. Maybe it's because people are mesmerized by the cute village and gorgeous Mediterranean sea. We both had sparse luncheon salads with unripe tomatoes, miniscule portions of featured ingredients,... We had lunch here and it was excellent. There were no eyebrows raised when we shared the supions while drinking our aperitif. The service was very professional without being pushy and we were recommended a very nice local wine. Our meals were excellent and the prices reflected the location. €90 for 2. I would definitely recomend this restaurant to my... More

The menu wasn't as varied or reasonable as others on the front. The waiter was more like a pushy salesperson too. I had fish soup which was like liquidisers salmon paste then baguette which wasn't too bad. Both of these things were available on a set menu but unfortunately not the same one!

Friendly staff. They show you the fish before it is cooked and the service from Gregory our waiter was excellent. Good value compared with the others.

With all of the choices along the port of Cassis, it was a random choice we made coming to Le Grand Bleu. Lovely spot with a view. The fresh catch of the day (sea bass / loup de mer) was grilled (presented whole and then filleted) was served with a delicious side of pommes de terre and vegetables. My wife... More

Beautiful little spot in the village of Cassis. The local wine was perfect for lunch. The fish soup was delicious (broth only, but very savory!) The shrimp risotto was overcooked, but everything else was good. The service was fine, nothing notable.

Nice place - go for drinks only. The food looked pricey and the closer you get to the water, it's more touristy. Or the food just isn't as good. The places off the beaten path are the best because they have to compete with the waterfront places.
