I agree with the previous review, Going downhill, service is unbelievably slow even when pre-ordered. Overpriced for a set meal of sausage and mash and cabbage, believe chicken was good but after such a long wait folks were so hungry it seemed like nectar abyway, had a much better meal at the Dales hotel and cheaper too, J Ridgway home... Having been a reasonably regular patron over the past 18 months or so, visiting perhaps once to twice per month; my recent visits have been disappointing. Generally the service staff are under resourced with resultant delays and missed orders. The quality of the individuals is good, but if one is serving at the bar, greeting new guests, taking food orders,... More

we celebrated a birthday here and booked a table for 8, we had the table next to the fire which some people would have found too warm but i just loved. the chef was very accomodating and cooked are youngest guest sausages and garlic bread which wasn,t on the menu but the little one aged 2 and half loved. my... Inside and out the owners pride ( and investment ) shows. Very friendly welcome but set lunch was nothing special and took ages to arrive. Maybe on a Monday lunchtime, the staff/chef are on a day off, but a bit faster delivery would make all the difference.

Me and my husband went on a sunday evening, to be told there was no sunday dinners available, no pie of the day - even though this is on the main menu. When i ordered steak with stilton sauce, i was told there was no stilton sauce!! Having found something to order the mains arrived my husband found a hair... More

A really good country pub. The decor is great the landlord is a good guy and it shows that he is putting a lot of effort into the pub. My dinner was lovely but the only negative comment was that two people who ordered steak medium rare got it overcooked, normally not a problem too much but they did cost... More

This is the ideal place for a relaxed Sunday lunch with the family. We were 13 in our party including three young children. The roasts were excellent including vast quantities of very well presented meat. Puddings also looked fantastic although I did not have room for any myself. The children had fun in the safe play area. The service was... More

After trying two other places that don't open on Mondays decided to give this a try. Really good decor , nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Huge pan fried skate wing, delicious Stilton beef burger, good side salad and hand cut chips. Only down side. Annoying music and tiny cheap wine glasses. Will come again

For a long time, we had past the pub with the intention of popping in, today we decided we would go for some lunch. We ordered two baguettes which took 35 mins to come out, with the extra annoyance that the table of 6 beside us who ordered after us got there food first. When we started to eat my... More

Open fires and dog friendly, the Erpingham Arms is well worth a visit if you're in the area. It has a good selection of real ales and wines but is more geared towards diners than drinkers. It also has a nice beer garden and children's play area at the rear. The staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much... More
