My wife and I dined here during our holiday in Connemara. To be honest we were disappointed. You have to climb three flights of stairs to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is unimpressive, dull with dated , faded and stained paintwork. The overall look of the restaurant is typical of a lower-end pub/restaurant scene. The one nice feature was the... More

This pub/restaurant was recommended by our B&B, and rightly so. The food was superb, do not miss the seafood salad, some of the best, and freshest seafood I have ever had. The smoked salmon, and crab salad was excellent. The clams were simply done, and absolutely the best I have ever had. The service was perfect, and the manager made... More

Have visited EJ King's many times over the years. Well done on maintaining excellent food and efficient, friendly staff. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable and the ambience and decor are perfect. Another very nice evening. More

We only had one night in Clifden and decided we would try this place out. The food was very good, some of the best fish and chips I had while in Ireland! The staff was very friendly, had some football on TV and then musical entertainment later on in the evening. Would really recommend stopping by for some fish and... More

As it was a sunny day we were able to sit out & enjoy an aperitif before heading inside to eat. Being by the coast you would expect good seafood and we weren't disappointed. I had some delicious Hake, cooked to flaky perfection served with fresh steamed veg & a creamy mash My hubby reckons he had the best fish... More

Dear MayoVistor, Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. Naturally we are very disappointed that the service was substandard on this occasion. There is no excuse for poor service on any night. Certainly, this is not indicative of our normal service in EJ's. Our staff have undergone Fáilte Ireland Hospitality Training and this should have been evident... More
