This is one of the best restaurants in gozo, no doubt about that! Food is excellent ; fish buffd this is thr place to be! The fish is fresh and the menu choices are exceptional, showing the best of how local gpzitan dishes should be prepared. The king prawns and cevice are by far the best sellers of this place.... More

We were one of the last tables to be seated on a very busy evening, so maybe our experience was a little different to most. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and eager to help and recommended a very lovely local wine. But after ordering the service was very slow, however this was only due to how busy they were... Beware of this place! By far the worst restaurant I've been to. It's dirty, tables are very small, service is bad, and food is not cooked properly (under-done fish). Also, the wine list is very limited with cheap wines but relatively expensive. Pass this place over and go somewhere else.

This is definitely one of the best fish restaurants in Gozo, the food, yet simple (homemade type) is delicious. The service is very casual so don't expect to be pampered and the seating is quite tight hence why i have not given this rating full marks

Despite the quite cool first approach by the staff, we could really experience the best food and appreciated welcome from the staff. We asked to book some seafood we wanted and they just made it to perfection. We enjoyed talking to the staff that became really supportive once the "ice got broken". We strongly suggest to stop by and give... More

I typically don't bother writing reviews, but if you are looking for an authentic experience of a mediterranean restaurant with fresh seafood and true hospitality, don't skip Sammy's restaurant... a small but lovely place. The staff was excellent! I wanted a starter that wasn't the usual, they suggested clams (freshly caught) that were not even on the menu...bechamel sauce and... More

Read as many reviews, self praising, so called objective appraisals in the Gozo tourist magazines as you want. The truth is only gained by experiencing the food and the atmosphere of Sammy's. We have eaten there for 25 years and have yet to find anything that comes close. You always receive a friendly welcome, food you wish you could emulate,... More

We have been going to Sammy's for ten years and over now, each summer waiting anxiously for him to open as he is closed in winter. Do not expect posh interiors or silver cutlery here- you dine in the terrazza outside overlooking Mgarr Harbour , with wooden chairs and tables arranged with barely enough space to have a private conversation......but...
