Sunday lunch for eight, all good cooks and critical diners. Small lunch menu but very good food served by an efficient, friendly hostess. All agreed it had been a fabulous lunch, quite an achievement. I would most definitely recommend The Barbury.

Eight of us had a delicious Sunday lunch. The lamb was beautifully cooked and there was an ample supply of vegetables although we were told that there were more should we want them. The Barbury is under new management .....a husband and wife partnership. The husband is the chef whilst his wife waited on our table. She was a delightful...

We were 19 for Sunday lunch... we were booked in, so they had time to prep, there was a choice of two things only, so I thought waiting WELL over an hour for a roast lamb meal was unacceptable. I can get a roast from fridge to table in not much longer, starting from cold!!!!
The meal, when it finally...

Poor food served with little imagination. Tables in the restaurant left uncleared when other diners left. Will not be going back ever!
We ate at the Barbury Inn on a Friday and all in all it was a let down...first the good, the pub is beautifully decorated and dogs are welcome. We were acknowledged as soon as we arrived and the staff seemed friendly enough
The pub itself had a few customers and only one other couple dining, we didn't arrive till...

My son and I booked a table for lunch on 10th March 2013, not for the first time I might add. Yet again a very pleasurable experience. Attentive smiling staff, tastefully decorated restaurant, lovely atmosphere, great wine list, real ales and fantastic food! What more could you ask for? I will certainly be back here again and again and would...

Lacked the basic touches that make a country pub a pub so an unlit fire, no locals in fact no customers. I'll keep this short - we were warmly welcomed and the portions were massive.
We called in for supper on a Friday night. It was our first visit since the current owners - who also run the most excellent Vine Tree at Norton - took over. We received a very friendly welcome from the bar staff and were given a table in the corner of the bar and a bowl of water was offered...

We decided at the last minute to go out for lunch. We had the seafood risotto to start which was exquisite followed by the venison bourgignon and my husband had ham, egg and chips. The food was absolutely delicious and ample helpings. Imogen, our waitress, was very attentive and professional. We have had many good meals at The Barbury but...

We'd been past a few times and were keen to visit after seeing it had reopened a while ago. It was really quiet for a Saturday night, no idea why as we quickly realised that this was a gem of a place. The area doesn't have a wealth of pubs serving good food, never mind food as good as this....
