This is a favourite place, and the ambience here is great. Amazing beer which you would expect, but also expect to find perfect mussels and the best chips you'll see anywhere
Me and few friends went to Belgian Beer Café on Friday evening, around 6pm. We did not have booking but it was not a problem. There were just few people next to the bar and only one table taken at the restaurant section. We got table straightaway. We have order some beers to start with. Time to order something to... More
Came here on Wednesday as recommended by a friend. Cheap mussels! We ordered 1 portion each. It was too salty to our liking that after the meal lips felt wrinkled - normally would get this kind of reaction when too much ajinomoto used. The service was terrible! We came early around 7:15pm but we made a booking at 7:30pm. The... More
Even with all the new bars, restaurants this place still stands out...the mussells and the beers, a great combination :) would recommend this as THE belgian beer cafe to goto, you would also love the architecture of the surrounding buildings
Was told by friends must have the mussels and try and bottled beers. VERY noisy obviously popular with locals. Chose two bottled beers and was told they don't have them, not that they had run out but don't sell them, so why were they on the list to choose from? One beer is $78.50 for 750ml was told by barman... More
The mussels they serve are great AND a great discovery there which all pork lovers MUST eat is the crispy pork. It was delicious as good as any you can get from the East. The best day to experience the mussels is on a Wednesday when they have a special price for it! Yummy!!!
not too far from train station and worth the walk. I ordered their signature mussel with wine sauce, very tasty but the mussel is kind of small so not much meat. you would want to order that as friend said he had bigger one last time
Went there for a traditional mussels fries, with a good Belgium beer. The mussels were average, and the do not have the beers we want. The total was really over priced. $50 per person for a mussels fries with a small beer.
I visited three times in 5 days as it was very close to where I stayed. The first occasion was drinks only and with 3 friends. It was fine. The second was on my own and included food. I sent back the main course as the fish was barely cooked. Foolishly I said I would pay for it and went... More
$34 for a steak with no chips or salad! What a joke. Other than being cooked to order the steak was not good quality. The mussels however were excellent as usual but how can you get them wrong?
