We dinned here recently and found it to be as good as previous visits- snapper in particular was very good. All portions generous, lots of potatoe mash bed for the fish .All fresh and perfectly cooked, even at closing. Still able to get a beer from the Shakespeare across the lane and bring it to table. Perfect for fish dinner for... More

We use Mohr fish as our default fish and chip takeaway. It's very close to the railway station and there is a nice park across the road where you can sit on a bench and consume your food. A set of fish and chips and salad costs 10.50 and is enough for a small meal for two. The service is... More

This is a small small place, but don't let that fool you. The food is delicious and fresh, we had the swordfish and the fish pie, there was nothing left on the either of our plates... Nothing. We then had the lemon tart which was a very refreshingly lemony with the right amount of tartyness, the rhubarb crumble was good... More

Had a nice dinner here with a friend, cute cafe/restaurant with good service, small but nice menu and byo. We ordered the soft shelled crab, just beautiful, however my main of sworrdfish wasnt fresh and I had to sent back. I am lover of swordfish, but cutlet was thin and tasted aweful. I advised the waitress who was very apologetic and... More

I have been eating here for at least 15 years if not longer, and as I can't eat fish I think that says a lot for the menu here. My friends clamour to come here for the chef's many, many ways with fish, and for me there is always something very special involving squid or prawns. Last week I had... More

I was almost tempted not to write a review on this place, so keen was I to keep this neighborhood gem to myself! The restaurant is situated in a corner terrace house of what I assume would have once been a grocer’s shop or a café. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time by about 50 years, and it’s... we had to wait for a table, so the girl at the counter told us to wait at the Shakespeare hotel across the road and enjoy a drink - they then came and got us when the table was ready. service was attentive, and the girl who was still learning did a great job. the food was delicious, although quite... this is a small, unassuming local chippy in surry hills but - as with most things in sydney - the food is very good. the place is very small - 4 tables and bar seating - but you can wait in the pub across the road and bring your drinks over. food is simple but delicious - traditional fish and... Staying in Surry Hills, this is a must visit resto. Being going here for nearly 20 years, and its still the same old same old. Tasty fresh fish, with a good pub next door!
