Such a beautiful location, but the owners haven't kept up the standard, the interiors need a bit of an overhaul. Very expensive for average fine dining. Better spending $50 for a main at a restaurant with a know chief. If it's a view you're after and you don't want to take the gondola this is the place to go for... More

Very shabby run down place that is seriously in need of a clean! Meals were very good but at 10.15 we were told by waiter place was closing! Umm. Six of us still drinking but basically told to leave. The hot drinks we all ordered were warm, definitely not hot which is what you want on a cold winter night... More

Amazing food, friendly staff, spectacular view. I felt that the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the location. Highly recommend it!

We went up here as we were told the views were excellent, and they were not wrong. Stunning views all around for sure. As it was mid afternoon ( 2.30 pm) and the notice board indicated it was shutting at 3 pm, we decided to have tea/ coffee and scones. When we told the waiter this we were shown to... More

We dined there on a quite mid-week evening and had a super evening. The view is fantastic, particulary at sunset and the quality of the meal more than matched the view. I had carpacio of venison to start and rack of lamb as a main, both were excellent, but the lamb won! My wife had duck to start followed by... More

We decided to celebrate our anniversary in Aorangi Peak Restaurant and it was amazing! The atmosphere was romantic, beautiful view of Rotorua, food was a little bit expensive but it was so worth it, tasted amazing! More than that the staff surprised us by bringing the desserts that had "Happy anniversary!" written on the plates and by offering us complimentary... More

We're looking at houses up Mountain View Rd, when we decided to drive to the top to look at the view. Once there we remembered there was an exclusive resturant at the Deer Lodge (Aorangi Peak). Much to our delight we saw a sign at the end of the drive saying they were open for coffees during the day time.... More

Our son's wedding was held here last weekend and my wife and I are delighted how it went. Every guest I spoke to afterwards said it was fantastic and loved the venue. During preparations, the owner Paul was a gentleman, accommodating us to make the day special. We had set ideas how the venue should look so we chose to... More

Recommended this restaurant by the owner of our motel. The food was excellent, a large range of wine list, very friendly service and panoramic view of Rotorua (I didn't recognize the city wasn't small and so beautiful) Worth every dollar. Best in Rotorua. Must visit.
