Heard about this bar/restaurant welcoming dogs and gave it a go on a sunny Sunday morning. It was great. The food came really fast, the coffee was good, and everything was reasonably priced. One of the best pizzas in town with great design salads. This bar can cater for most tastes and has a really friendly atmostphere. “Enjoyed our meals”

We ate at The Good Home a couple of times when staying in New Plymouth early in Jan 2013 and enjoyed our meals very much. Friendly service and the meals arrived after only a very short wait, which we thought was excellent considering how busy it was on the first night. Excellent location and good atmosphere.

Went to The Good Home for a friends birthday for lunch. Have been before and had wonderful service. Dont know what has happened since but this time round it was terrible. We all ordered our lunches at the same time. Half got their lunches with 20 minutes.. while the other half of us waited... and waited... and waited!!!! Over half... More

Good venue, great bar, good staff, had a fixed menu and all the food was good, had some big parties there but staff coped well

“Something a bit different which was very nice”

Nice location near Puke Ariki and the wind wand. Nice outdoor area with the Huatoki Stream nearby. I likes the way the tables were spread out, there were different areas to sit for a meal. Menu was good, I had pizza, other three had stone grill (generous steaks). Nice relaxed atmosphere.

We dined at Good Home a couple of weeks ago, with a group of 8. The service was fantastic. I had the mussell for starters, and pork for main, which where so yummy. Others at the table had stonegrill steak, which was a bit of fun. Overall we all where very happy with this meal. Well done Good Home

Thought we would give this fairly new restaurant bar/restaurant a go but served worst salad I have ever tasted. Service was poor and staff a wee bit arrogant.

Have been here 3 times. Lovely areas inside and on balcony, food of a good standard and a good price, the coffee though is a let down and is not up to the standard of many other bar/cafes.

A pub with a small group of tables sectioned off which I think you could almost call the restaurant area because with the doors shut you dont really hear the pub noise. Have been there twice now and been very happy both times. Looking forward to the next visit! Food was great tasting and not slow at all, prices reasonable.... More
