This was my 3rd time here but first with my husband. What can I say it was yum from start to finish. Neat idea in the sharing of meals so it ends up really good value. Staff were excellent and knew what every dish was like. Central location is great too. Will be back next time we in Welly

My partner and I went to Matterhorn on a trip to Wellington to celebrate my 30th birthday. What a treat! You can't make a reservation, and the place was packed, so we put our name in and then had a cocktail at the bar (which is sectioned off from the restaurant and super cute and cosy). It's a narrow room... More

Very enjoyable, and would go back again. Menu was good, and service was excellent. Family demanding that we go back again next time we are in Wellington. Cannot book, which is a slight reservation, but staff worked hard to accommodate everyone, and there is a bar while you wait.

With a dark, moody, mysterious, hip atmosphere, this has an unconventional, rustic ambience from the dim lights, to the stark bar area that really says Cuba street. Bit of a Tangiers feel. You enter through a narrow passage off Cuba. There is a small outdoor area, where smoking is permitted. Slow-roasted rump of lamb, served pink w/olives, fennel & Aubergine... More

Had dinner with two work mates - no oysters on a Monday but moved on to have Sardines on sourdough, salt cod fritters, and a beaut lamp rump rolled in a light pastry. Enjoyed that a lot with a bottle of Burnt Spur Sav Blanc. Finished with a roast cauliflower with in a great sauce and a chicken ballotine -... More

Good fusion style food, with originals on the menu, vegetarian can be really yummy. Great staff, making you feel welcome and ensuring that your visit is memorable. They also have karafs of wine, perfect for two on a weekday.

I went with a family and friend group who all have varying tastes. The atmosphere is great, but the staff are absolutely fantastic. Menu selection is not vast but what you get is delicious, We all chose something different and shared amongst ourselves so tasted lots. There were some different choices I havent come across before so it was great... More

Down a side alley steeped in darkness lies this trendy bar full of cool Wellingtonians sipping away on cocktails in intimate surroundings. The bar/restaurant are dimly lit which adds to the atmosphere. The cocktail selection was pretty good and the tapas style food was very tasty. I think it's worth checking out but it's a very laid back affair. If... More

We ate in here one evening with some friends. The food was good and certainly could not be faulted. However the ambience leaves a lot to be desired the ethos seems to be low light. What they acheive is near total darkness as four of you struggle with one small candle to see what is in front of you. f... More

I was amazed at how thoroughly learned and eloquent the wait staff was about the menu. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and divine. Truly great gourmet food. I was only quite concerned about the lighting of the place since it was a bit too dark for me. It was like dining inside a cave with very minimal lighting. However... More
